Grade 2 listed cottage

The brief for this Grade 2 listed cottage in the New Forest was to create a warm, inviting and comfortable second home, which didn't look to 'formed' or matching. We mixed velvets and florals, with pattern and texture in warm colours to add some personality to this beautiful cottage. 

Home Office

The brief for this home office was to create a working space which would suit long hours, be comfortable and on the grand-side, to reflect the client's careers. There is plenty of storage for client files, law books and office equipment, as well as a up-down desk and leather ergonomic chair. 

Luxury Annexe

I was invited to join this project while it was still a building site - with no roof!
The brief was to create a luxurious space, full of character and to feel like a luxury hotel suite for their guests.

Calming Luxury Bedroom

The brief for this bedroom - calm, relaxing, tranquil, luxury.......we added panelling to the back wall and added a mix of neutrals, calming blues, upholstery and antiqued oak furniture.

Dark and Moody luxury hallway

This hallway was large and bright, so we could get away with something dramatic, which include this very large expanse of large blue (in one area, going up 2 floors). We balanced the darker areas with full sized mirrors and used some existing artwork to tie everything together.

In this family home, I mixed the use of dark colours with pale to create a calm and relaxing environment with pops of colours throughout.

Children's playroom and adult snug

This space has been created in a new oak-framed building which houses the garages, laundry room and home office. It seemed like the perfect space to create a welcoming den/play space for the children, complete with a sofa bed and pull out trundle for sleep overs, lots and lots of storage and a space to play and work. 

Relaxing Snug

For this project, the client wanted something that looked luxurious, comfortable and relaxing, without feeling too precious about jumping onto the sofas! We teamed up some MDF shelving units to develop one wall & hide a chimney breast, and created a centralised wood burning stove with corner sofas either side so that the space worked for both social occasions and for watching TV.

Bright and Colourful Bedroom

The brief for this one: bright and colourful, but also warm, inviting and calm. I really enjoyed using colour in this bedroom, and getting the balance between colour and pattern and something really beautiful. 

Luxury Colonial inspired Master Bedroom and Bathroom

The homeowners here already had the gorgeous colonial dark wood furniture, which was a wedding present. They wanted to bring a touch of home to Hampshire, but whilst also maintaining something tranquil and luxurious. 

Luxury Grade II Listed Cottage

This house is a stunning Grade II Listed cottage in the middle of the country. The owners had just moved in, hadn’t brought anything with them to keep, and were keen to develop something that was sympathetic to the style of the cottage, but with their modern tastes included. We chose some gorgeous pieces of furniture, new sofas and chairs as dressed the room with a mixture of traditional and modern pieces to create a blend of styles that suited the house and the owners! 


Seaside calm whole house project

This couple love spending time in Cornwall and even though they live in London, they wanted to create a feeling of seaside calm - using the colours of the sea, as well as artwork based around their hobbies of walking, the seaside, dance and music. We worked on the whole house, creating a series of sample boards which reflected their style - and we also had a bit of fun with some quirky designs, such as the photographic wallpaper in the ‘cycling’ room!

Masculine, oriental influenced, Living Room

This client wanted to ban the beige carpet and opt for something masculine, bold, blue and with a very subtle oriental twist, through artwork and accessories.

Industrial style living/dining room

Tiffany and Matt are looking for a really up to date, modern living and dining room, with lots of colour and a touch of the industrial. We're going for an industrial twist, with elements of inky blue, mustard and lots of Scion fabric colour! I start project managing this in January 2018, and am pleased to say it was all finished by 13th February 2018.

Masculine Hallway and Dining Room

This dining room needed to be impacting and fairly masculine, and being a room between the kitchen and living room, also needed to tie in colour-wise and style-wise. One of my favourite features in the dark green entrance hall, which we took onto the ceiling. 

Luxury Master Bedroom

This was the first room to be completed in this large whole-house project. They needed somewhere calm, relaxing and tranquil to hide away after a day with four daughters and two dogs so we decided to start on the Master Bedroom. This bedroom blends a more traditional style with a contemporary twist, using layers of neutrals with plenty of texture to create interest. 

Country Cottage Playroom

This stunning Grade II listed cottage needed a revamp for the children. The couple wanted something light, bright and engaging for the children, yet nothing too over the top for a family room that is in the centre of the house. We chose some subtle yet fun fabrics and teamed it up with some unusual artwork, lighting and some fun accessories.

I’ve always dreamed of having a clean, modernist home, and I’m happy to say that Alice and her team at Atelier Cohen led the way to making that dream a reality! I couldn’t be more happy with the project, my house looks like it could be featured in a magazine.
